Maybe, maybe not, sure the seller could have gotten a little more, but the classifieds of the Porsche world are filled with guys trying to get "top dollar" and sitting on their engines. This guy priced it right and sold it, quickly, there is tremendous value in that. Everyone loves to surmise what engines are worth but most have not sold one, at least not many. For example, I bought a 72T a few years ago that had a running 930 motor in it, we pulled the motor, after taking a video of the car driving. Everyone, including my mechanic said I should get between $25,000-30,000 for the motor. I priced it at $20,000, it took six months to sell and I sold it for $14,500. That's reality, not arm-chair quarterbacking.
