If they are sealed cartridge bearings then you can clean and replace them without removing. Simply pull the seal ring out, clean out the crud and replace with fresh lube.

The bearings are press fit, so if you want to remove them you can sometimes knock them out from the opposite side with a drift, but you risk damaging the bearings. Or, you can get a bearing puller and do it right. Putting them back in is pretty simple, just get them lined up and press them in, use some lube.
