Whew, I escaped from the mall!
We showed up the the Apple Store just a few minutes early. The tech guy got to us just after 11:00 (appointment was 11:00 so about one minute late, not bad) and did the battery test. My battery showed marginal OK, as did my wife's. They went ahead and did the replacement for $29.99 each. I was going to pay with Apple Pay, but they had my phone. So I used my debit card. Oh well, same account.
We had to wait an hour
without our phones so we went to lunch. I survived the hour with no withdrawal pains. Then we went to get some Jeans. I am done!
Now I have a project to process and some real work. Gotta keep the boss happy.
