The peanut gallery is interesting. I was on BaT a year ago commenting on all the Ferraris that had conversions (TRs, BBis, 308/328s, Mondials, 360s and 550s, etc), some that were done by some of the shops I worked for and I believe it added more money to the auction. I had first-hand knowledge of many cars, some that were actually done when I was there. Guys wanted to argue with me on this.
I also added, what I thought at the time, educated and no-nonsense comments about particular 911s and several 944s/951s - cars that I have owned and have been around all my life since I could drive. They did not like the real comments I put in, and some were flagged as being not constructive when they were the truth.
BaT doesn't like truth. The peanut gallery, overall, doesn't speak the truth. It's like the Wikipedia of classic car guides regurgitated by armchair people. I have seen some really good comments - as yes, there are several people who really know their stuff. But these are way, way out numbered by wannabes and clowns who don't know because they really - don't know.
