With my 1989 S2, I averaged 26.6 mpg and a speeding ticket on a 1350-mile trip from San Antonio to So Cal. Steady between 80-85 mph on the Interstates (w/ occasional blast to 100-110). Ambient temp was between 105 and 118 degrees, so the a/c was on the whole way. Haven't kept track of city mpg, but I'd guess it's around 18-20 with a combination of "cruise" and "inspired" modes of throttle. Love the 944's big fuel tank--gives excellent range.

Not a guzzler, but not an economy car either!
