Make sure to pick a shop that knows/services air-cooled cars. Most dealers have moved on and should not be "assumed" to be air-cooled knowledgable.

993 has a large community on rennlist, if you share the location, you will get recommendations of shops that will know many of the key items to look for. Having said that, also be prepared that a 20+ year old car will have some in need of service issues. That should be factored into a price, but not a reason not to buy. These cars if driven regularly will need service, have oil leaks, and parts are not cheap, though Pelican does offer some competitive pricing on consumables and repair parts.
