The narrower head may be one reason the Shark sucks so well. We replaced a Dyson with a Shark a couple of years ago. It’s a much better machine. MrsWD bought one of the new ones with two brushes a couple months ago. It works fantastically on wood floors.
My job is cleaning the the machines. We have two sets of filters and swap them out, one in the machine and one being cleaned/drying. I take the whole machine to the shop every couple of weeks and blow them out real well with compressed air. Dust and gunk gets trapped in odd places, I don’t know how you could own one without a source of compressed air to clean it now and then. The nooks and crannies and internal screens that don’t come out are minor design flaws IMHO.
