I use the top of the washer & drier cause my bench looks like that 90% of the time. well actually it's a 100% currently as I am readying my house for sale with painting and junk. ive got tools spread out all over the house and only find what im looking for after needing it and it going unfound.
to the appliance work space annals. my washer lid has a convex arch to it that can be bowed down with light force with it staying loaded like a pop goes the weasel waiting to spring. it only took like 20x of it "weaseling" sending small junk I had on it all over the garage before I made sure to unload it immediately upon it going into the "ready weasel spring" mode while working atop it.
