I was searching to see if I had ever posted a thread on this forum about my 928 Spare Tire Covers and I came across this thread. The first plastic item I made for the 928 was the Spare Tire Cover and mine is fully formed as with the original factory items, but I used the cover from my first 87 as the pattern both for the shape of the cover and the forming, although my cover is formed about an eighth inch deeper than the originals.

My Spare Tire Covers are made of 3/16 inch thick black ABS plastic that has a very fine "pebble-like" finish called "hair cell." To date I have made a few hundred of them and they are apparently suitable for any model of the 928. The only issue I have ever had reported is when one guy was trying to install it upside down. It didn't seem to fit.

My Spare Tire Cover is $90 and the S&H is $20 to domestic locations. Send a paypal to my email address with your address and I can put one in the mail.
