I did a little more research. The funny thing is that a lot of what I found was forums for guitar players. What I found was that the size of the speaker is more about volume than anything else. A larger speaker moves more air, hence more volume. Any speaker can put out low frequencies (again, if it was size, then headphones would suck).

Trying to find an OEM speaker sounds good other than not knowing when it'll blow. You can buy a replacement for $57, but I think it's the 6.5" and I'm not going to replace an 8" with a 6.5" unless it's a good aftermarket. I've heard that the standard speakers are lacking even compared to the SPP.
