The larger tires just looked better for my taste.
I may consider selling the new tires. Does anyone have any experience with these larger tire sizes on a 67?
Back in the day, we commonly ran 185/70s, as did early 911s (stock). I eventually went to 6s then 7s for my stock-fendered '65, but then I have to run 205/50s, which lower overall gearing (great for autocross, not for long-distances). My experience is that 205/60s will rub at the rear, so 215/60 seems way too much. The only sure way to tell if a given wheel/tire will fit is to try it, usually using spacers (which may require longer lug bolts). Get a used wheel and a used tire (same tire brand if you can) and try it at all four wheels.
