There is a large grommet with three cable bundles underneath the DME test connector (on the firewall right in front of the fuse box). I used a 2' long 1/8" steel rod (borrowed my son's Estes rocket rail), greased it up and slid it down inside the sleeve of one of the bundles. Be careful and don't force it, you will feel it when it is right. It takes several tries to find the right spot and angle, you also might want to try a different sleeve on one of the other bundles. Once you're through the grommet, you might have to punch the rod through the insulation to get completely inside.
The rod should come out in the car above the clutch pedal. Stand on your head underneath the steering wheel and you will see the wire bundles where they route underneath the fuse box. Tape the wire to the rod, grease it and carefully pull it back out into the engine compartment. Leave some extra length and you can use that wire later to pull more wires in the future.
I have successfully run wires through there on both of my cars.
