My first gig out of college was in microcode development at IBM (microprocessor based network devices), back in the mid-80's....very similar to the ECU on my Carrera....but lots of them in a device. Then I became a mainframe systems programmer (communications) and played with some of the fastest stuff around for a long time. Mainframes....were H20 chilled back in the day....until the late 90s before chip tech evolved further. Multi-million $ plexes...I had the keys to the kingdom too....just one thing I ever regret from those daze...
I never got to play with a Cray...
