So you have a TV. No cable box? Just TV and antenna maybe, and internet stuff that you do right on the TV with the tv remote?

Run HDMI out of the TV to HDMI in of the receiver. Select that input on the receiver. Listen to sound. Done.

If the TV does not have HDMI “out”, use the toslink “out” and run to toslink “in” of receiver. Select the toslink input of receiver. Listen to sound.

If you’re having fits with the receiver google the manual or just list the model number here and there’s plenty of fellas here to interpret the gobbledygook for you!
