There is a Shell station on Sunset and Wilton, next to the 101 freeway, that is a discount station. Another on Vermont near the 101. So it's not even a brand thing, it's a business strategy deal that stations choose. And yeah, some stations are a lot nicer places to fuel up than others, that's for sure. I hate crowded urban stations w small lots and will avoid certain ARCOs even if they are cheaper because of it.

I believe Sammy about the same fuel thing and have never had an issue w ARCO but I have gotten bad fuel a couple of times in life and it was a nightmare. About a year ago on motorcycle at a Sinclair station in East LA, needed gas and jumped off the freeway. I was so surprised to see a Sinclair, (rare in SoCal), my bike started running awful @ 80 mph 10 minutes later. I had to limp it home and drain the tank and fill w fresh gas. If it was a car, it would have been a big problemo.
