Here locally, almost all the Shell station have been shut down. A local company called OnCue is taking over. They have large well stocked convenience stores, and I suspect very competitive prices. I have never bought their gas and only some beer on a few special occasions that are irrelevant. They spend a LOT of money to acquire prime lots, and build fancy new stores. They must be doing something right, every one is always busy. That is a good reason for me to avoid it.
I buy my 100% corn free gas from a Conoco close by. They have a small store, but nice guys own it. They will special order me Erdinger Dunkel, the worlds best beer in my opinion.
Anyway, I pay 20 to 25 cents more per gallon since it does not have the federal subsidy. They have gasohol for sale if I wanted it. The only time I used that was for a rental car I was returning.
