Pulled the fog lights this evening with the intention of cleaning them up and respraying the exterior black. After taking them apart it looks like I should address some issues they seem to have.
First, the glass lens either has overspray on it or has been blasted by road sand/debris. Is it possible to restore some of the clarity in the lens? I doubt the lens restoration kits would work as they are made for polycarbonate lenses (I assume).
Secondly, the reflectors have something that at first I thought was rust but after closer inspection I think it may just be a decomposed covering to prevent that portion of the reflector from reflecting. I know old reflectors can easily be damaged if cleaned incorrectly.
Any advice?
