My story is way worse... (This happened just after my separation and divorce more than 15 years ago)
I was lowering the jack my SC was on, twisted the handle of the jack a bit to much and it dropped fast.
The drivers side mirror hit my shoulder on the way down. The mirror base tag broke.
My shoulder was OK after icing and few beers.
I fixed it by drilling into the nub that was left and tapped an M4 thread and then used a bolt to make a new tab.
The tab circled in black broke. (This is a 964 base, The tabs are very similar to my SC)
