In retrospect, my mirror leaping to its death is nothing. Hope everything is good now; you know the passage of time, etc.

I was lowering the jack my SC was on, twisted the handle of the jack a bit to much and it dropped fast.
The drivers side mirror hit my shoulder on the way down. The mirror base tag broke.  My shoulder was OK after icing and few beers. 
I fixed it by drilling into the nub that was left and tapped an M4 thread and then used a bolt to make a new tab.
The tab circled in black broke. (This is a 964 base, The tabs are very similar to my SC)
