I think they did an okay job of making a mid-engine Vette, good enough, and not too polarizing. I question more the need to do this, did the number crunchers say both a mid-engine Caddy and front-engine Vette would saturate the market and bust both projects?
EDIT:
Looking at the the 2002 Cadillac Cien concept car (
first image far above) I do not think the headlight height is high enough to meet current regulations. Talking this design from concept to production could have been a painful experience for the design team.
