I'm typically loath to send letters of complaint, but I made an exception with our local television news stations and their use of the term "Porch Pirates". Perhaps it shouldn't, but use of the term bothers me.

People who are nothing more than low-life thieves should not be called anything other than low-life thieves. And they absolutely should not be referred to by some cutsie appellation that gives the impression that these low-life thieves are somehow different than other low-live thieves.

It might be worth noting that I've not been the victim of this type of low-life thief - I just don't like low-life thieves.
