They are great dogs in a 1 on 1 situation, but unpredictable around small children, and small dogs. They are possesive to a fault...which means anyone/anything perceived as a threat must be eliminated, and not just nipped like most other dog breeds do. I think the dog park would be out of the question, as well as walking around other dogs.
I am not a fan of Pitts at all, and don't enjoy petting them, or even looking at them, I always have that unsure thought in the back of my head that says this dog could rip my throat out for no apparent reason....which keeps me away from them, as i'm sure they can sense my unease, which makes it an unsafe situation for both of us.
Summary; They are good dogs until they aren't !
