Hi, sorry to revive a thread that was resting in peace, but I'm looking for related information and couldn't find it anywhere. The low tone horn on my car has been dead since I bought the car. When I was cleaning the wheel wells, prepping the car for winter storage, I got motivated and decided to try and figure out why the horn didn't work. I checked the electrics and there was a signal getting to the horn, it just wasn't working. So, nothing to loose I took apart the horn and spent the next half hour cleaining out all of the junk that had accumulated over the years against the diaphram. The horn works now. But, what I found confirmed my first impression: Isn't mounting the horn with the trumpet pointed up going to collect a lot of junk flying off of the wheel?
Anyway, researching it on the forum I found this thread that indicates the trumpet should be pointed downward. Makes sense. Now my question, finally. What is the orientation of the trumpet relative to the electrical connector on the body of the horn. On mine they are currently on the same side. My concern is if I turn the horn over so the trumpet faces down, then the electrical connector is going to get filled with junk. Do I need to re-orient the trumpet on the horn body?
