Just in case it may help someone else- I picked up a 64G sandisk ixpand drive for $42.
Works perfectly copy movies to it like a flash drive. Plug it into the lightning connector, it bends nicely around the ipad and stays out of the way. Use the ixpand app, tap the movie you want to play and away we go. Easy. Sure beats buying another ipad.
