This is an actual old hymn, really. It's from a Presbyterian collection and likely there was a printer's "error" changing the word crepe to crap. Often folks mourning loss would put black crepe up to mark the death, and for whatever reason - carelessness or devious intent- it was printed as "Crap on the Door". I love to imagine the little congregation at this church faithfully chanting away, til they get to heaven where there's no crap on the door
