My last set of tires on the Cobra were Goodyear Bluestreaks. Sticky as all getup and driving on the gravel driveway sounded like a rainstorm. No preservatives in them though so they don't last very long and while they had good grip they were not real friendly communicating the edge of traction. They were OK, just not great. I hear the Avons are awesome, but they start at $500 each and that is a lot of money for a weekend toy. Have Mickey Thompson's on it right now. Great street tire, not a great track tire.

With no top or side windows I never bothered with A/C on the Cobra. I seldom drove it in July or August when I lived in El Centro. Here in WI I just skip November through February. I am not legally allowed to drive it in January with Hobbyist plates unless I pay an extra fee. Not that I would have wanted to Wednesday with it -30* here. The wind chill would have been a wee bit bitey! Not sure the defroster would keep up in that car anyway.
