I ordered 100 poly mailing envelopes. They're folded over, so about 8.5x11x2 package, and stuffed into a poly mailing envelope - ready to ship. So wouldn't the easy way to ship be to just stick a label on it? No, it comes in a gigantic box.
My daughter's friend used to pack orders for Amazon and she said the reason that happens is they run out of the right size boxes at their station and are too lazy to walk over and get more so they fill orders the rest of the day with whatever they have.
