How ironic that you would say that sammy. It was because of you that I stopped posting in PARF. What was it, some time close to a year ago now that you did some sort of internet search on me to find out that I declared bankruptcy in 1997, and then you posted that in an effort, I can only imagine, to embarrass me. What kind of a person does that?
As I posted there, and here again, the irony of course was the bankruptcy was the result of the investment bank we hired for the due diligence on Lamaze Publishing buying the magazine I started, Modern Dad (parenting magazine for men, basically Popular Mechanics, Popular Science and Men's Health all rolled into one with a parenting slant... how to teach your son how to throw a curve ball and the physics behind it) found that the CFO of Lamaze had embezzled over $500K from the company. So they didn't buy us. And time ran out and that was that for Modern Dad. In reality, they wanted a special section in the magazine, FirstTime Dad, which was a huge success. The entire premise was to get dads involved right from the start, before they got stuck in the provider role.
The irony of course was Sammy posted this to publicly humiliate me. But I did exactly what his hero, Donald Trump, had done many times. I just didn't grow up in a wealthy family and have my dad give me $400M so my partner and I financed the magazine ourselves. I actually gave her money so she didn't have to declare bankruptcy and I did. What a great time that was. Fantastic magazine but FirstTime Dad, that was the key for getting dads involved, before they were even dads. Childbirth educators loved us. Another story.
So sammy, yeah, sort of ironic that you would say that.
