On the Satellite it had nothing to do with speed or aero, it was all suspension.

It would sink down in the rear as the suspension loaded (without the tires spinning).
This loaded the rear tires to keep them from spinning. It didn't raise the front end.
It would bust the passenger side motor mount before it would break the tires loose.
As it started rolling it released the tension built up in the suspension and the rear would lift back up.
Within less than a foot the rear would have raised back up and it would accelerate hard enough to pin you back in the seat.

Those mechanics really had that suspension set for launching!
