I wonder how doctors feel about that. I’ve never talked to one about it.
I’m concerned about fostering the idea that there is a drug for every human problem, and downplaying the need for personal responsibility. Staying healthier takes work, and the older you get the more work it is. I would like to see
that fact advertised as much as the latest pill.
A lot of the “new” OTC drugs are the same as some old drug, just repackaged and maybe combined with some other old drug.
My favorite stupid drug ad is for a drug that cures constipation in opioid users. The ad shows a guy in a hard hat out on the job. I wouldn’t want to be working out on a hard hat job along side a guy hammered on OxyContin, I don’t care whether he can crap or not.
