Well, to a point. Probably the worst thing that can happen to a hip replacement is having the ball come out of the socket, and the slow twisting fall that happens skiing is very risky for that. Once it happens, it's super susceptible to happening again, and hard to fix. Knock wood. Yeah, I could get hurt. I try and ride safely, and take few risks.
