I went WiFi my father in law that worked for the local state wide electrical company. A big sub station that serves one customer had an issue. He said don’t touch anything and the was the best followed advice ever.
He met another old grey hair guy at the site. They exchanged maybe 10 words. Both did their job. No chit chat, no wasted steps. Soon it was fixed. The other guy left, we left. I asked if they did not like each other or what. He looked confused. He said they are long time best friends. They were working, no time to chat, and they can do that in the truck on the way to a repair next time. They just did not have anything to say except the steps they would preform to fix the issue.

Two guys the opposite of your guy. Both 100% competent at their jobs.
