Nothing better than watching a pro do his job. My electrician cousin does stuff for me once on while; quick, thorough and done right.

I’ll ask if so and so minds if I watch. Never a problem. I’ve discovered that most pros enjoy teaching and explaining stuff. Sometimes it looks like they’re doing an extra step when actually their experience has taught them doing it a certain way is more efficient in the long run and maybe not so obvious on the current job.

I’ve been known to hand Mr. Know-it-all the tool and just stepped back to watch. Usually, a quick apology ensues with no more ‘advce’.
