And you can get it for sub $20k used.

Seriously I should have know this is what you consider fun. Not much you can do with these either. I can build you a 700 whp Gulf R that would be a lot more fun.

Was it a base model? What didn't you like about it? My 18 GTS with tune is an amazing ride in every respect. Fast, comfortable, handles incredibly well for a large vehicle and sounds amazing. Although I have driven some that were not well spec'd that I agree were just another soccer mom car.

The M3 is nice but give me a GTV any day of the week. What a great car and still under appreciated to this day. If you are handy and willing to deal with crazy french cars the Citroen SM with the Maserati engine is a very unique experience and has lots of room. Another car if you hate your money is the AM especially with the V12.

Intoxicating sound although poor ergonomics and not as fast as it should be for the HP but looks amazing. Funny I post a pic of my friends AM and this pops up on BaT.

I know I will get flamed but I am surprised nobody mentioned the 928. Probably one of the best GT cars made. Well maintained examples are very reliable although have some expensive routine maintenance.

Not fast by todays standards but these are a fantastic ride especially with a 5 speed and the GTS is an amazing car for its day.

End of story.
These are so underestimated. When they first came out they had handling issues but now that it has been resolved a great buy and rare. Although I don't see the gain in space over his other cars. Any of the mezger engine cars are a great buy the 996TT with AWD delete and LSD is an amazing buy and far too much car for the $$. Again I don't see it resolving his dilemma. You can build a nice 6 GT3 3.8 with steel sleeved nikasil plated cylinders for not much and have even more fun.
