Fred if your property is far away enough from neighbors so as not to bother them then I would say go for it. Billy B mentions that air bnb can bother neighbors as well.
When we were in Palm Springs a couple of years ago we stayed at the Best Western. We walk in the local neighborhood. Talking to a couple of owners they say the area has been ruined by air bnb tenants. We are talking about multi million dollar homes. There is simply not enough distance between these properties. Having said that we did not notice any excessive noise.
