Have you tried the “new” organic wines? My younger friends in the Toulouse / Bordeaux area love them and I must say I’ve enjoyed quite a few good bottles. Apparently, you have to drink them young but that’s fine by me. I personally find the older French wines a bite rough for my taste buts that’s just me.
