The 993 I just bought had more alarms then I can count. Clifford Blackjack (Car jack alarm), Viper on top of the factory immobilizer (PINTA! It would set automatically after three minuets but then you had to recycle both alarms to start the car even if you opened the doors with the Porsche transmitter), On-Guard (To bad this service went out of business. I think GM bought it to start On-Star. It was a 1500.00 system and had a 24-hour operator and tracking like Tele-Trac.). But as I type this it’s all gone but the Car-jacking portion and the car has a new Tele-Trac. I think I understand the motive behind this. The PO had his RS America stolen and the insurance company completely beat him up.
Now about professional installations; the factory could have done the alarms that were installed, it was that nice! And the new alarms will be installed that well. Some shops are more professional then others. I highly recommend Mark’s Auto Sound in San Gabriel (cheep plug) but some of the best work you will ever find for security, sound and nav. He has been in business for over 30 years and has helped grow the industry. I would trust him with any marquee you might have. OK the commercial is over.
Now my car has one transmitter hallelujah!!!
