Yup, they work.
I was raised with gun/duck dogs (primarily Labs), as well as working LEO dogs.
A good shock-collar is an asset to any serious K9 training regimen IMO (if used as properly/as intended).
We always had/used TriTronics collars, and they were nearly indestructible (and waterproof). I wouldn't even bother with any of the cheap alternatives. YMMV...
