But trust me, I could not have wanted to be there for any of the shenanigans less, I am not a fourth dimension guy.

So you are a person who operates outside of time.... The 4Th dimension is the dimension of Time...which you can not see nor touch. Yet it exists because the hands on the clock tell me so...
There are some people who are hard and fast "NO they do not exist," because they stay in their box of limited perceptional reality. To that I say, "Horatio there is more between heaven and earth than meets the eye." Human perception and knowledge are limited, and to say it does not exist because you do not perceive it or know it, is well rather a foolish position to take. If that were what everybody thought humans would still be pounding two stones together to start a fire in a cave. Let us call them Neanderthals... Maybe we would be better off, because there would be no Global Warming...anyway I digress.
Currently my dog will be sleeping on the sofa next to me during the evening..then every once in awhile he will jump straight up like something poked him jump off the sofa and start barking hysterically in the direction of the sofa..why he does that mystify s me.. I have often thought it could be my last dog Zoe which is letting her presence be known? Who knows?
I have had an experience that defied any logical explanation, where the owners of the old home which is a Bed & Breakfast say there is a ghost in the house of a previous woman owner who died in the house in 1923.
Anyway to hand, with the OP's original post.. I would try talking to the ghost saying I take it that you don't like me being here? Is it that I am disturbing something, you don't like change or are trying to show me something? I mean no harm and am here at the behest of the new owners to do a job. Who knows maybe the ghost will even start to hand you your tools as needed?
I guess it is called being open to possibilities...
