The greatest game changer in all of human history was the advent of nuclear weapons in 1945. For the first time in all of human history man could wipe himself out in the blink of an eye. Unlike any other time, there is no place to run no place to hide.
With that reality hanging over your head why not just go for it. Live it up cause there might not be a tomorrow. Precedent, patience in waiting your turn at bat, why wait decades, you might never get there. This has had a profound effect on society first with the Boomers questioning the status quo and rebellion in the 60's and when the status quo establishment beat them down (Kent State etc) it turned to the cynicism of the ME Yuppie mantra of I am going to get mine its all corrupt anyway. The personification of which is the Clintons and their ilks cynical amorality of situational ethics.
Now we have the turning of the screw at the abject failure of the establishment with the election of the reformer Trump and his flip side socialist Cortez and friends. It was Bernie that opened the door for good of the common man under socialism and Trump who was going to stand up for working Americans by maga..same message two different paths.
But meanwhile the roof or structure that these 2 different economic models work under is not sustainable without building massive amounts of debt. The size and scope of the global economy has outstripped the ability of the consumer to consume as a result the forces of deflation are at work.
