I have been having start issues with my 87 944 so I swapped ecu and now it’s starts up fine. The only problem is now I have really low oil pressure. My oil pressure was always perfect. Even though I checked many things during my no start problem,the only things that were changed were the dme relay and Ecu. My oil level is correct and recent oil change also. The oil pressure is reading 1 to .5 at idle (950 rpm ) and at about 1400 - 5000 it reads 2- 2.25 . Can the changing of the ecu have caused this. The old ecu was sent out and maybe had been modded before I bought the car. I am sending this back to the place that did the work. The ecu I replaced it with is a stock unit.
