Low oil pressure can be symptomatic of bad oil sending unit, bad rod bearings, questionable grounds, too light oil grade, coolant/oil cooler (check the dipstick and coolant tank), oil pressure regulator or worn oil drive seal/sleeve on the front of the crank, or lastly, the gauge. Start up cold you should see full scale gauge readings until normal engine temp when it should drop to around 2 idle and between 4 and 5 at high rpm's.
