I was preparing for a partial drop yesterday - part of this was separating the shift coupler from the nose of the G50.

1) From inside the car, remove the shift coupler cover.
2) Don't undo anything on the shift coupler but unhitch the rubber boot and push it back through the tunnel towards the back of the car.
3) Put the gearbox in 2nd or 4th gear.
4) Underneath the car continue pulling back the rubber boot until you can get to the single bolt holding the shift coupler and G50 selector shaft together.
5) With a 13mm spanner undo and remove the single bolt through the coupler and the G50 selector rod.
6) Use a small pry bar (or similar) to separate the coupler from the G50 selector rod - you want to move the coupler to the front of the car whilst not pulling the G50 out of 2nd/4th gear.

Can be a little frustrating. Last time I was in there I fitted a new rubber boot and that made it a bit of a pain this time.

Once separated there isn't a huge amount of gap between the coupler and the G50 - but it's enough
