The car is back in my hands more than 14 months after the accident. Was in the shop for 13 months. I think it turned out really well. Was lucky to have a body shop that was familiar with this car.
Am excited to drive it again. Need to change the oil - I changed it a few months before the wreck and only put a few hundred miles on it, but better safe than sorry. Going to do the air and fuel filter too. Also plan on changing the brake fluid. Have several boxes of parts that I've been accumulating that are ready to go on but am glad to have it back.
Total damage was $11,500
which was more than twice the initial estimate. Some hidden damage in there. Will be super careful driving it and will keep an eye out for distracted drivers and big ol' trucks.
