Slowly plodding through this process as a DIY. Removing the sunroof cassette took a bit of work. The photo above deporting where to fit the glue seal, remove the rivets, and grind around the perimeter of the sunroof is dead on. I made a cut around the perimeter, and grinded along the back edge of the folded seam until the sunroof cassette was free. 35 lbs. off the car. I’m leaving the welding to my shop, and plan on having a PDR tech work the metal into shape.
