I think I'm going to like this one...
It the Weihrauch HW 45, a spring-piston gun. This one is in my favorite high powered air gun caliber, .20 or 5mm. It has two power settings, depending on how far one compresses the spring when cocking it. JSB Exact 13.73 grain pellets just broke 500 fps over my Chrony on the high power setting. Not bad for an air pistol.
This thing takes half the cocking effort of my other spring-piston gun, my Webley Tempest, yet achieves almost twice its energy. The sights are outstanding and fully adjustable with very clear detents, the trigger is wonderful, and the fit and finish second to none. The thing just oozes German quality. All steel and aluminum, no plastic whatsoever. Not cheap, but still in the price range of a decent .22 pistol. And yes, those are standard 1911 grips - it will accept any style of those you could want.
Cool little gun. I'm going to enjoy this one.
