Door jamb paint removal
I have to remove paint from forward door jamb (hinge area, not latch area) real base coat - clear coat shiny old paint. There are many crevices that I can't easily get to with a brush or sand paper, and there are also plastic/rubber parts in there as you know, and I can't take off the door, and I also in my geographic location I don't have large Home Depot style stores with unlimited chemical products. I have determined, though, that I must use a chemical product to strip the paint. I have 4 basic products I have available, and I am wondering what:
1) will be effective at stripping the paint
2) can hopefully be washed off with water
3) will not damage the plastic/rubber, etc., in the whole area of the hinges (and underneath where the product would flow and drip down)
These are the products I have available, and I can let them set on the paint surfaces for a practically unlimited amount of time if needed and re-apply as needed:
1) Turpentine
2) Environmentally friendly Graffiti Remover
3) Acetone
4) Paint thinner
5) Chicken eggs/yolks (just an idea)
6) Coca-cola (I heard it works) and if you can think of something else that would be effective and is probably available in a very rudimentary hardware store, please let me know
What do you recommend given the CONSTRAINTS above as described?
