Finally finished work on the FIL's old guitar. Cracks in the solid wood back were steamed and glued together. Bridge was glued back on and clamped for a week and I was able to adjust the machine head for the low E. The machine heads are not period correct but maybe one day.
After touching things up with a light sanding and a thin coat of sealer, I re-strung with a set of extra light strings. Everything is tight now. There are no rattles or buzzing and the tone is bright. I've been playing it a lot this week and thinking about the FIL. I think he would be pleased.

My MIL says he bought it used sometime in the 40s it was an old guitar then. She was glad to hear it being played again.
