Do I really need a catch can?

After eliminating the vent line from the WUR (eWUR now) and the vent line from the turbo catch can (solid plug) I'm left with two of the original lines that went back into the old airbox: the large (~1" ID) line from the air-oil separator, and the smaller line that goes overboard to the canister in the RHS wheel well.

Is there any reason I can't just connect the two together an eliminate a catch can?
