Not entirely correct Bill, the first 1000+ RS's (from VIN 1409 officialy) had the normal long trailing arms as used in the S version although enforcerced with metal plates. The later RS's used the short version as equipped with the M491 version (RSR). Earlier RS's had the alu cross member, 2nd and 3rd series regular steel version.
